I just received a message that Tom Ezell passed away in his sleep on November 24.I met Tom while attending polygraph school in Arizona during 2000. It was evident then that he was a warm-hearted man, who was a center of gravity for a number of people, including his family members and others. http://www.raymondnelson.us/qc/Maxims_from_Ezell.pdf r ------------------ "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here. THOMAS RAYMOND EZELL, age 78, of Litchfield Park, Arizona, died peacefully in his sleep on November 24, 2007. Tom was born on December 9, 1928, in Hawthorne, California to Thomas and Thelma Ezell. He has three sisters (Imogene, Lorraine, Yvonne) and one brother (William); all but Yvonne preceded him in death. Tom served in the army in WWII. In 1953 he joined the Phoenix Police Department retiring in 1973, having worked as a motorcycle officer, homicide detective, and polygraph examiner. In February 1977 Tom received his BA degree in Public Management from St. Mary's College. He started a polygraph business and school, which he operated for 34 years. Tom was a member of the FOP, EAGP, and several polygraph associations. He was active in politics and ran for Sheriff of Maricopa County in 1980 winning the primary but unsuccessful in the general election. Tom enjoyed woodworking and created many beautiful items for his family to cherish. Tom is survived by his wife Mildred and seven children -- Doris Hart, Michael Ezell, Debbie Bowen, Andy Jahnke, Julie Ezell, Jennifer Russell, Joel Jahnke, 12 grandchildren, 14-1/2 great grandchildren, and one mischievous cat Maverick. A good man with a kind soul is now resting in peace and will be missed by all whose lives he touched. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the Mayo ALS Clinic for all their care and support. A memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday, December 15, 1:00 p.m., at the Church at Litchfield Park, 300 N. Litchfield Road. A private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Tom's name to the ALS Association or the Church at Litchfield Park.

I attended Tom's school 20 years ago this coming January. I also worked for him for about 3 years prior to getting into Law enforcement. He will be missed. I did see Tom earlier in the year and although he was loosing some muscle control due to the ALS he was the same old Tom inside. To his wife Millie and all his family, god bless you. Many of us will feel the loss for along time and he will never be forgotten. Jack L. Ogilvie ------------------
